RSU #57 enjoy the use of a wide variety of computer services that aide faculty in the instruction of students and administrative staff in the execution of their various tasks.
Below is a short description of these tasks.
Overview: Wired and Wireless Networks covering seven schools - supporting 2150 laptops, 626 Desktop, 624 Ipads, 185 printers, 75 Smart Boards, 59 laptop carts, 232 AlphaSmarts, Media Center at the High School (cameras, video cameras, scanners, ipods) Tandberg System in all schools.
File and Print: All staff and students have access to a file server providing file storage. Each server is backed up nightly. The school system is protected by multiple firewalls and internet access is processed through a Filter Server to keep unwanted material out of the schools.
Classroom Computers: Classrooms are provided with Mac computers. Each school is also equipped with a computer lab of 25 to 30 computers. Computers are also located in staff offices and libraries.
Misc. Peripherals: Faculty and staff also have access to a wide variety of peripherals. Color printers, digital cameras, scanners, alphaSmarts, DV camcorders, SmartBoards and wireless laptops are available at each school.
