Eighth grade baseball hosted the Knights from noble in a six inning battle at home on Friday. A strong offensive effort in the 5th gave the Mustangs a 10 to 7 win in their home opener.Noble jumped out to an early lead during the second inning with a 5-2 lead. Devyn Dotterwich drove in the first run of the season for the Mustangs in the 2nd inning.

Noble added 2 more runs in the 3rd extending their lead to 7-3. Emmett Carroll (2 for 2) led off the 5th inning with a single, followed by Ryan Merrifield (2 for 3), Judd Rand (2 for 3)& Logan Hajdysz(2 for 2) With 2 outs, the Mustangs kept battling adding another 4 runs to end the inning in the lead 10-7. Judd Rand closed the game facing 4 batters & throwing only 8 pitches.
Ben Booker was the Winning pitcher. Jacob Michaud & Logan Hajdysz threw one inning each. 
On defense, Kyle Fecteau played strong at second including executing a heads up double play.
