In December of 2022, RSU #57 was granted $25,000 from the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation National Paralysis Resource Center to build an ADA compliant playground at the Massabesic East building. Known as the "Little Mustang Meadow", this play area will be accessed during the school day by elementary age students who attend high needs special education programming in Waterboro. The accessible ground cover will provide greater access to our young learners as well as to our community members who may have mobility challenges.
Construction of the playground finished on June 8. Although there are still a few remaining features to be added, the Little Mustang Meadow is NOW OPEN to our students and community members! Click the video below to watch the transformation.
RSU #57 is appreciative of the generosity and support that we have received from the Reeve Foundation and are excited to have this feature in our community.

MMS welcomed our incoming 6th graders at Step Up Days this week! Thank you to our 7th and 8th grade presenters and tour guides for their leadership and for making the visit so very fun. We can't wait to have you all join us next year!
Last week we welcomed back our team, NCL Turbines, from the National KidWind Challenge in Boulder, CO. Noah Crosby, Chase Morin, and Landon Lawrence competed in multiple challenges, collaborated with collegiate partners, presented their knowledge to industry experts, and represented MMS incredibly well over the four day event.
Our huge thanks to their families and to Coach April Perreault for accompanying and supporting the team. This trip was made possible by the support of our generous donors. Our tremendous thanks to:
Stephen Kosacz, Founder and Former President of Autoworks

Thing 1 and Thing 2 are the Cat in the Hat's loyal companions, and in this show they serve to move along the set and scenery as well. It's no easy feat to play the role of both cast and crew, but 8th grader Alexus Vachon and 7th grader Emma Hamilton have mastered this balance.
And finally, meet the Cat in the Hat, played by 8th grader Ace Horgan. The Cat is charming, funny, animated, and the humble narrator of our entire production! Come laugh along with our Cat at Seussical Jr. presented at Massabesic Middle School this weekend!
Show dates Friday, the 19th, and Saturday, the 20th, at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Tickets on sale at the door. Cash sales only please. We hope to see you there!
